#DigitalTransformation FOR INDIAN ELECTION SYSTEM & THE FUTURE OF GOVERNANCE – A HYPOTHESIS

My previous article was about how to effectively choose an energy management system? Since the hype is on Indian elections, why can we not correlate the same for how to effectively achieve good governance using technology, #DigitalTransformation?

Note: This is just a hypothesis that might be a possibility with ever growing technology, data & the evolving ways of easy processing.

Energy is central to nearly every major challenge & opportunity the world faces today so does an opportunity to choose a leader to you.

This is an opportunity that might be central to every major challenge or opportunity you face tomorrow but the emotions towards caste, influence is mundane to get replaced quickly. Science may help, Technology may be the witness to put one’s thoughts & mind forward for the well being of the human race. Either saving our country for future generations or saving the future of the country for generations, We are in the front line. The prior was our job, what we are absolutely good at maybe only in the energy space but that decides the future of a country, but the latter is something where we wanted to be a helping hand.

Before going digital, Dear people, please cast your vote because, #ApnaTimeAagaya

So, Digital Transformation for Elections & Future of Governance can be addressed for 3 categories.

Leaders:

It is the primary concept where elections fail, people go emotional in choosing a leader after all the humans right! But, the true sense of a political leader is always in disguise but not if digital trends like AI, Sensitivity analysis & Blockchain technology comes into the picture.

Technologies like these can record minute financial details & provide a clean chit for a political leader who can be in the race. Sensitivity analysis can help predict future behaviors based on the previous & AI, Machine Learning can help the leader by personalizing people experiences.

Voting:

The process of voting can be made very transparent & effective with the technologies that we have now, needless to say, the Aadhar system had every individual’s security data (like fingerprints, address, mobile, etc.) & the voting system can be so secure & effective using biometric systems using retina, thumb impression, etc.

People & Governance:

Nearly 1.4 billion population & slow pace of #DigitaTransformation makes our governance the weakest in the whole world, but may not be anymore if all the above-mentioned technologies are in place making the #DigitalTransfusion into the whole country through every house/street by means of “Local Governance”.

  • Financial Matters like money, gold, properties are taken care of by Blockchain at it’s best.
  • Criminal Matters are taken care of by Sensitivity analysis & behavioral analytics using Big Data & Robotics.
  • The Agricultural, Industrial & Infrastructure can have co-aligned growth through technologies like IoT, Additive Manufacturing, Smart cities, EV, cloud technologies, etc.
  • Flawless governance is achievable with technologies like AI & machine learning, etc. to integrate all together.

Keeping aside the theory, Every change has it’s limitations & problems before stepping in. You all know the difficulties to implement these still-evolving technologies, but may not be impossible within 10-15 years. Let’s hope for the best.

Meanwhile, I would love to hear your thoughts on how #DigitalTransformation can help us achieve good governance in the comments below.

Digital Transfusion – An Energy Industry Perspective of Digital Transformation.

The digital world is the living world & the rest are just spectators. So, this statement gives birth to these 2 questions of all time, that makes Digital Transformation is not the luxury but necessary.

Are you Digital Ready? / Are you Digitally Ready?

Digital Transformation in many areas like Data, Analytics, Technology, Revenue, even strategy, etc… is accused of being merciless & collapse many fat-cat corporates within no time.

It is not a specific industry but, even the technological industries had their own versions of excuses for not preferring change & the following basic reasons has to be addressed for being on top.

  • No Information / Don’t see it coming
  • No idea of where to start & How it ends
  • Budget, Resources, & etc.

Digital Transformation is a process where the way an organization operates, measure & perform gets effective with less hassle in terms of measurement, monitoring & control.

So, In context to #DigitalTransformation in the shoes of Energy industry, We have 3 concepts to hit on.

1. Digital Transfusion but not Digital Transformation

In medical terms, Transfusion happens in order to change the old blood with a fresh one that suits. Electricity is one such bloodline that flows through the entire organization & any type of organization that demands primary attention. But, is it possible for Digital Transformation of the company particularly in Energy & power?

Yes, Which why we call it Digital Transfusion & this is how we help organizations to achieve the Digital Transformation.

2. Where to begin, especially when you have limited resources.

Basic digital transformation should start with a scope to cover the whole organization via energy & power resources that cover at least 40% of your annual expenses. These can be monitored, measured & controlled using a system that can recognize enormous energy-saving prospects, help optimize operations and track return on assets (ROA) to a great extent in manufacturing, industrial machinery, power & utilities, mining, oil & gas industries.

Adopting energy management software to provide flexibility, mobility and data access to help enterprises focus on their core business in addition to environmental sustainability.

#JustSaying Few Energy management systems (#ELNet) have recorded a whooping RoI of <6 months & reducing expenses by ~15% annually.

3. Where is this headed ultimately?

This can take us to the next level where organizations can personalize employee experiences, which is the future of work.

The capabilities of digital transition are the inclusion of real-time monitoring, and cloud services to ease the workflows, predict trends & behavior patterns offer plans in decision-making.

The rapid growth in technology towards digitalization allows the industry to take complete advantage in analyzing the overall energy usage, real-time processing of the acquired data, and tailoring the insights as per user needs. Energy management is leading the world’s energy efficiency with the rise of Interoperability (A concept that enlights the Internet of Things – IoT) even in the industry 4.0.
